The second Executive Board of the Human Development Report on Citizens’ Security for the English and Dutch-speaking Caribbean was held in Panama on 22 March. The meeting was presided by the Deputy Director RBLAC and Director of the Panama Centre and it was convened to agree on the subjects to be addressed by the report. The meeting represented the first opportunity for the members of the Executive Board to meet the newly recruited Lead Author.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Director RBLAC and Director of the Panama Centre, Mr. Beat Rohr, expressed the need to strengthen coordination and to have the main stakeholders on board. He highlighted that the process needs to be as cost effective as possible.
The Board agreed on the framework, types of crime and outline of the report, which will be capture in a Concept note to be presented in the next Executive Board meeting to be held in Barbados.
